It was an absolute pleasure for Shaun Sookoo, CEO, to welcome Sharon Doherty, Chief People and Places Officer at Lloyds Banking Group, to Food Division in Birmingham. Her visit was a powerful reminder of how businesses like Food Division can thrive by aligning innovation with a commitment to making a meaningful impact on the communities we serve.
Food Division, which now employs over 250 people, has grown into a shining example of what can be achieved with a clear vision and a strong sense of purpose. As Sharon toured our facilities, we had the chance to showcase the operational excellence and core values that drive everything we do; from our focus on quality in the supply chain to our unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of our team.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was discussing our dedication to paying a living wage and creating opportunities for personal growth within the business. Hearing stories like that of one of our team members, who is now on the verge of purchasing her first home, never fails to inspire. It’s a powerful testament to the positive ripple effect businesses can have when they put their people first.
As shared with Sharon during her visit, Food Division is about more than just growth, it’s about being a force for good in every sense. With the support of partners like Lloyds Banking Group, the company is confident that it can keep expanding whilst remaining true to the values that brought us to where we are.
